Abandons saying that this year has been one of the hardest in living memory. The pandemic turning life, business, social communication, schooling, local area, all on its head. While the change has appeared to be unique for everybody we can unquestionably say that there's been no other general test like it. Not a solitary soul is standing where they thought they'd be this time a year ago. The size of the lockdowns all throughout the planet is extraordinary, which is the reason the issue of psychological well-being is significant.
Although we're all facing the same situation in this pandemic but we have gone through it differently.
There wasn't just one lockdown – we all had our own experience.
Let me tell you my story.
This post pandemic lockdown has proved to be a turning point in the history of my life.
One remarkable incident that i like to narrate is that
Thus, all those great national opportunities which I couldn’t have availed during my 1st and 2nd semester at university because of fulfilling those credit hours, were therefore grabbed by me luckily in this post pandemic. I have indulged myself more physically and mentally in these activities more than studies.
Over indulgence in sports vis-a-viz studies is one of my weakness.
Presently I have been competing in All Pakistan National Tennis Championships and currently ranked among top 10 ranking and former top 3 Under19 ranking players all over Pakistan without any coaching. By grace of Allah Almighty i was selected and i have featured our Pakistani tennis in Grade 5 (Juniors Future's Platform Tournament) at Bangladesh in March 2021.
I have also received UTR (Universal Tennis Ranking) ranking all over the world.
By the basis of which I can easily inshALLAH get admission in top universities- abroad on 50% studies and 50% sports based merit criteria.
Everything happens for a reason and we must trust ALLAH’s plans!
I took all the start from beginning, since this pandemic has arrived in Pakistan I was
unranked in nationals and now up to this date I have all these achievements
Alhumdulillah!
Whereas, tennis is the only sport in the world which is still going internationally and locally in all
countries even in this severe pandemic and intense lockdown with proper SOPs being
followedeverywhere. International Grandslams are happening!
I was absolutely a naturally born talent athlete who was equally good in all sporting games like Cricket, tennis, football, table tennis, hockey etc. but Tennis and Cricket always had my heart and I wanted to continue these sports and excel further in them and to train myself professionally in order to compete today the best sportsman’s in the world.
I come from a middle class family and our family background is strong, they could have supported me financially very well but it was not in our family tradition to allow a child to participate in these sort of activities leaving studies behind as our family grew Doctors,Engineers,Pilots,CSS officers and I had to suffer dearly because of these sort of reasons and my talent was going in vain.
Before this pandemic, When I was in 1st year, I mustered up all my courage and without letting anyone know decided to appear in trials for Lahore Qalandars in 2017-2018. The selectors in the camp were absolutely amazed by my All round performance in the trials and expressed their hopes in me for getting selected in the squad and play for Lahore Qalandar’s. I was told to gain weight as I was underweight to maintain good fitness during tough training sessions. It was a big achievement and it was a great platform to then represent our National Team Pakistan by maintaining a bursting level of performance in Pakistan Super League.
When my parents got to know about this they instantly refused about this with an excuse that there is no future in Cricket and they are absolutely letting lots of talents going waste in Pakistan’s Domestic Cricket infrastructure and I was told to focus on my studies instead of indulging myself in these sort of activities and become a good engineer in nearby future.
I got dishearted, bowed down to my fate, agreed with my parents, decided to leave cricket( but up to this date cricket in me has never left) and realized that living a balanced life beside studies I will continue to play tennis in my eve timings to divert my mind and to keep myself physically fit and mentally strong. I became a very good player of tennis and the racket which I was using was a beginner type of racket but my game was worth watchable and was praised by everyone with additional comments of my own coach ( he was actually not my coach, I learned and practiced and groomed my tennis on my own all those years. No one ever contributed to it and guided me except my ALLAH and after that my own hard work and dedication towards it) that i should change my racket, buy a new one and switch to Original Racket by spending some reasonable amount of money on tennis accessories and enter in professional era of Pakistan’s National Tennis Tournaments which were held All over Pakistan at different countries. I had to consult this decision to my parents and seeking permission from them for it but fearing the consequences of it with a bad experience in the past, I was afraid to.
I then decided once again on my own to appear in National Tournaments without letting
anyone know from my family and trust my luck. My parents were not aware of this. I took a bold step and was ready to face all the consequences for it, Plus I have done this many many times out of my craze for tennis.
I was also doing great at Nationals.
I was given a lot of opportunities to go and play abroad but unfortunately I could not have seized anyone of them because of my family’s pressure.
Fearing the consequences of getting grounded I decided to let the things be as it is.
Ever since this global pandemic has arrived, My father has granted me permission to actively participate in these national tournaments ever since he has learned about my ranking in Pakistan and also about the news that I defeated my coach at Nationals EvelALLAH!
The COVID-19 pandemic means that many of us are staying at home and sitting down more than we usually do. It’s hard for a lot of us to do the sort of exercise we normally do. It’s even harder for people who don’t usually do a lot of physical exercise.
Regular physical activity benefits both the body and mind. It can reduce high blood
pressure, help manage weight and reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and various cancers - all conditions that can increase susceptibility to COVID.
It also improves bone and muscle strength and increases balance, flexibility and fitness. For older people, activities that improve balance help to prevent falls and injuries.
Regular physical activity can help give our days a routine and be a way to stay in contact with family and friends. It’s also good for our mental health - reducing the risk of depression, cognitive decline and delay the onset of dementia - and improve overall feelings.
I have understood that as a spouse, father, partner and pioneer, it is since I most need to show sympathy, fortitude, passionate insight and to walk-the-converse with abandon nobody. Eventually there is just a single arrangement: act with thoughtfulness, act with adoration, however with physical separating. Going through entire day with my family! Glad that ordinary its turning out to be fun remaining with fam. Eating with them and sharing all the cherished recollections. I likewise attempt to recognize disturbing considerations when they happen and talk about them with individuals around me. They are probably going to have them as well and we might be better ready to discover arrangements altogether. Attempt to remain positive.
How educational systems and economy needs to be revived in this post pandemic?
The worldwide wellbeing pandemic has focused an unforgiving light on the weaknesses and difficulties humankind faces. It has given an unmistakable image of existing imbalances—and a more clear picture of what steps forward we need to take, boss among them tending to the schooling of something else than 1.5 billion understudies whose learning has been hampered because of school terminations.
I'm apprehensive from current economy circumstance that if we will secure position.
As the work supply increments, descending pressing factor is put on the compensation rate. On the off chance that businesses' interest for work doesn't stay aware of the work supply, compensation generally fall. An overabundance supply of laborers is especially unsafe to representatives working in ventures with low hindrances to passage for new representatives—that is, those with occupations that don't need a degree or any specific preparing.
Alternately, enterprises with advanced education and preparing necessities will in general compensation laborers higher wages. The expanded compensation is because of a more modest work supply fit for working in those enterprises, and the necessary instruction and preparing conveys massive expenses.
Being limited to our homes with no external social associations with individual people is intense and conflicts with our human instinct. Nothing contrasts and going University and encountering the full uni understudy life of interfacing with companions and instructors. While a worldwide pandemic has stopped this all, I have been fortunate enough to have a family that keeps on supporting me during these unsure occasions, who are continually permitting me the reality I've required over these previous 12-13 months to concentrate freely.
The best thing about lockdown was that I could cooperate with my family, companions particularly my senior sister and my younger sibling. The way that we are generally home together gives me a protected quiet climate. Additionally the online tests during the lockdown helped me a great deal to raise my CGPA.
By and large, I have discovered lockdown significantly better than I suspected it would have been on the grounds that I figured out how to keep associated with every one of my loved ones. With this said, I've kept a positive head, continually looking towards the current test of lockdown as a versatile learning experience that we're totally confronted with.
I trust that Allah Almighty will help us in future and one day this virus will end. Everything happens for a reason and we must trust his plans.
Yours truly,
Muhammad Bilal Farooq
