“Covid-19” is just a name of ordinary disease to me until it spreads in Pakistan and many people died because of it. I remember my first discussion about this virus with my friends. We were sitting in a ground of our college and talked generally, then one of my friends just started to talk about the virus in China. We all were familiar of it, she said that we had to remain more conscious about it then I replied stop overthinking, it was just spreading in China not in Pakistan. But no one knows that after two or three months it started to spread in Pakistan so rapidly that its cases increase from hundreds to thousands.
In march 2020, I went to Multan for PAF test everything was normal there. Then there was a sudden announcement of lockdown on the day after I came back from Multan. In those days we were preparing for our intermediate exams. This lockdown is for just only two weeks but the condition became more serious and the lockdown was going to extend.
There was a very uncertain condition for the conduction of examination because of this I had a mental stress. I was very confused either I continued preparation or not. If I stopped preparation then I would loss my focus or by continuous studying, I get bored of it. Finally, this stress was ended when government announced to promote students. This was really a great moment for many students but not for me. Everything happens for our betterment. Then I get admission in university. I was very excited for that and have a lot of expectations but all these expectations vanished when I received a notification from my university that this whole semester was online. At that day I was very tensed, how I managed it? This was the first question came in my mind. This was the worst experience of my life. All things were new to me and I don’t know how to interact with class fellows or teachers. I had suffered a lot. But with the passage of time, I learnt a lot of things and used to study online. Now, everything is going smoothly in second semester.
This is all about me which I have experienced. I don’t think so it is worse from those who even don’t have anything to eat. I feel very sad for those who work daily to get money on daily basis to feed their families. But due to lockdown they were unable to get money and their families had to suffer a lot. I think about security guards of school or college, bus or Raksha driver and the masons, how they managed in lockdown? Government has tried to help them but not in much effective way.
In 2021, the lockdown condition is much better than 2020. We can say that in future the covid condition will under control. We have to be more conscious about covid and must follow SOPs. So that covid remain under control. Just think that are we playing our role effectively?
sincerely,
Zainab
