My lockdown experience

Dear all,
COVID-19 – the deadly pandemic not only led to a dramatic loss of human lives all over the world, but it also affected our individual lives badly. The lockdown changed our perspectives and transformed our everyday living style. Here, I will tell my part of the story and my lockdown experience.
When the virus outbroke in China, I was shocked by a large number of causalities it caused but had no idea that it would spread worldwide. And,
the rise of covid cases led to an increase in the degree of fear and worry. And thus, monitoring the situation, the government announced the lockdown countrywide.
I was taking my pre-board exams in March, but after the third paper, the lockdown was announced. The situation about the holding of the final exams was quite uncertain due to the increasing covid cases in the country. Until the decision regarding the exams was announced, that time span was very stressful for me.
Like most of us, my lockdown experience was worse because it badly affected my mental health and physical capabilities. Before the pandemic, I was an active person, but the lockdown turned me into a slothful overthinker. During the lockdown, I went through a dispiriting occasion, I lost a dear one due to the covid, and worse of all on the same day I got admission into my desiring field.
The online experience at the very start of the university was demotivating because sitting on the couch and listening to the lectures was not really what I wished for. But like, everyone else, I had to deal with it too.
No doubt, that the lockdown was a challenging experience for each one of us, but it also taught me some valuable lessons. It changed me as a person and my idea about life. I realized that family time and being around the people you care about should be our priority because life is uncertain and not even a second can be predicted. In a world, where a race for materialistic progress is prioritized we often foresee some beautiful moments of our lives and the pandemic showed me that money and power aren't as important as human life.
The pandemic not only ruined our social life but also affected the educational and economic sectors of the country. Hundreds of people were unemployed and the business of many was ruined. Not only this, but the mental health problems rose to an alarming rate.
2020 was a challenging year yet “HOPE IS THE LAST THING EVER LOST”. Last year, of course, was a tough time for all of us but losing hope and stressing is not a solution. I hope that life goes back to normal and besides, we should be thankful for being able to survive because thousands lost their lives and their loved ones.
Yours truly,
