Dear all,
The current circumstance of the Corona Virus and the lock down because of this infection, which we have been looking since practically most recent 14 months is clearly not something little. It closely affects our live. Indeed, it won't not be wrong to say that it has totally transformed us. Nobody will fail to remember this timeframe for the duration of his life. We have a great deal of recollections with it. So now, let me share with you my perspectives about this lockdown circumstance, what it meant for my inception, my life, how I confronted these conditions, the things I encountered and so on.
As we know how it started. I heard a news about a new type of virus suddenly appeared in china and like most of the people I listened it let it go. But in a few weeks, the virus spread in quick pace took over the central Asia and in few more weeks, to the whole world. And like every country Pakistan was also affected by it and the whole country was locked down due to the deadly virus. The cases started increasing in Pakistan. All the educational institutions, industries, markets, all were shut down. It was a quite different experience. I had never faced these situation in life.
At start, I enjoyed it a lot. Staying home, no studies, no college, exams postponed. Usually, I like staying home with no worries of studies or anything.in short everything was like that I wanted. But soon I start getting fed up. Soon exams arrived and I started preparing for them. But the disease was getting worst and worst day by day. And then something happened that I didn’t imagine. Our exams cancelled and we were promoted and further I got admission in university without giving the entry test. And then many strange things happened. University started and first time experienced the online classes. Gave online exams and passed the first semester. I found it very hard. Studying online, taking online classes, faced many issues like connectivity problems, internet issues, lack of understanding and many such problems.
No event since World War II’s end has had as profound a global impact as COVID-19. The pandemic has triggered a public health and economic crisis on a scale unseen in generations and has exacerbated systemic problems such as inequality and great-power posturing.
The only acceptable response to such a crisis is to pursue a “Great Reset” of our economies, politics, and societies. Indeed, this is a moment to re-evaluate the sacred cows of the pre-pandemic system, but also to defend certain long-held values. The task we face is to preserve the accomplishments of the past 75 years in a more sustainable form. Today, international cooperation and trade, which drove the post-war improvement in these and many other measures of human progress, must be maintained and defended against renewed skepticism of their merits.
COVID-19 presents us with a real challenge and a real responsibility. These ideas invite debate, engagement and action by governments, international organizations, civil society, educational professionals, as well as learners and stakeholders at all levels.
Wholeheartedly,
Faizan
