How COVID-19 has affected my Life?

Dear all,
Although we're all facing the same situation in this pandemic but we have gone through it differently. There wasn't just one lockdown – we all had our own experience. Let me tell you my story
At first the coronavirus didn't really catch my attention. As a 16 year old who lived in a country where it had not appeared, I felt awful about the lives that were being lost and the challenges people were having to live through but I wasn't really concerned about my safety. Right after a month when the first case was reported in Karachi on February 26,2020, the government instantly took measures to stop its spread and all educational institutions were closed immediately.
My higher secondary school exams were to start in April but due to the uncontrollable circumstances, they were postponed and then cancelled as the situation of COVID remained precarious. But all through this time, we were in a constant phase of uncertainty because we weren’t sure if one year of our academic career would go waste due to this or we would get promoted. Luckily, it didn’t go waste as the government modified educational plans accordingly.
My experience with COVID has been unlike any of my worst nightmares, because unlike a bad dream there was no waking up from this. I being a person who isn't used to sitting at home had to be extremely strict with social distancing, hand washing, mask wearing and adhering to safety protocols at-all-times. So, it came as a complete shock to me and I got phobic anxiety disorder due to prolonged depression, anxiety, indignation, sensitivity to social risks and a constant state of uncertainty.
This is not all, I got admitted in the university in a field that I was so passionate about but I lost motivation and just starting taking things off my head which is one of the shortcomings of online education as it caused social isolation and lack of communication skill development in me.
It's not only the educational sector that's affected but the short- and long-term effects of COVID-19 peak on the socio-economic and environmental aspects of Pakistan and the post-pandemic affects might be devastating.
Although the pandemic has drastically affected my mental health and social life but it has also shaped my personality through positive disintegration. From being a person who had "No I won't, and you can't make me” kind of attitude to someone who has started accepting things as they are, I became more flexible and that's something I always wanted to change in myself! Moreover, I had also got plenty of time at my disposal to discover myself, my potentials and deal with my inner conflicts.
It's quite an unusual situation and nobody knows what the future will bring for us but I really hope that life will go back to normal. For now all we need is the wings of hope to continue flying in the dark!"
Yours truly,
