Dear All,
Corona Virus has brought significant changes to our lives. Everyone has their own experience. Here, let me tell you about my story.
Everything was normal. It was January 2020 when I heard about corona virus for the very first time. At first, I think that it would be just a simple disease which had affected some specific people in China and no need to be afraid about it. Then, whole social media began to capture by its news rapidly. It was spreading. People start to compare it with past pandemics Then, it became he hottest topic of my thoughts.
After a month, the headline of the news was that the first corona case is appeared in Karachi. Something petrified felt in my heart. It forced me to search about it even about the past pandemics. With the increase of its knowledge, fear was also being increased. Day after day, knowledge increased, fear increased and cases increased.
10th March was the date of closure of institutions and long vacations started. Corona Virus reached our town and became the topic of each talk. I learned new words like sanitizer, quarantine and isolation, very well.
Virus and it’s fear reached their peaks. Lockdown was imposed. I did not take a single step from my threshold for 33 days. I imprisoned myself in my own house for a month. Sometimes I could not realize that what was happening. Those were the days when I discover new things about myself, my skills and my nature. At the same time, I got news of the canceling of final exams which made me happy and curious at the same time. The drama “Ertugrul” was the best source to entertain myself. We had to find ways to maintain ourselves mentally relaxed.
The 34th day of my imprisonment, I went out of my house and felt the true feeling for the liberty. One day, I got sick. I had cough and a little fever. I had studied about Covid symptoms. It affected me mentally and I refused to go to hospital as I was afraid of the virus. But, after a couple of days, started feeling better. It was not the corona virus, it was the fear which got me sick.
Things began to settle down. Lockdown became lenient. Fear lessened. I started working to take admission in a university and got admission. Then new waves began to spread. Time passed, we gave our lives a new shape. It is right to say a restricted and online shape. Everything became online including shopping, education and jobs. Now, its been an year and a half. Fourth wave is spreading across the country. But, for a couple days, things are being under control. Different countries have launched vaccines.
Now world has taken a very sharp turn and things have changed. In future, there may some terrible consequences affects our economy and educational system. It is time to understand the situation and we need to take steps now and even after the pandemic to revive ourselves.
We have to make proper plans at national level to enhance our economy after such devastating conditions. We will have to spend our more capital for economical projects in future to resuscitate our economy. Learning process is significantly low in online education system. So, we need to develop new ways to open the institutions to revive our educational system. Moreover, we have to protect domestic and international financing of public education which will really help us to revive our educational system in future.
It is the time to think out of the box, to overcome our fears and to realize our responsibilities. Now, we have to hold the glaring lamp of hope to cover the dark path of pandemic.
Sincerely,
Abdul Moiz
