Me and the Covid Pandemic.

Post by Anees Waqar »

Dear All,
Today we all are facing the results and the problems caused by the novel Covid – 19 which has convoluted the whole world and the restrictions imposed due to this disease. Let me explain my journey during this pandemic, how it was throughout? How this disease affected me?
It was 13th March 2020, I was at my home and came to know that there is a lockdown all over the Pakistan due to Covid – 19. I was a bit affrighted at that time because my Final Exams were upcoming but I was ecstatic also as I was provided with an enough time for self – study. Initially, this disease was nothing to me but I was a bit curious to know about it. What is it? From where it’s originated? How it has changed the world?
During my research, I found that on 11th March 2020 the world health Organization declared that Covid – 19 was a global pandemic indicating significant global spread of an Infectious disease which is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS – Co V-2). China was the first with a wide spread outbreak in January. On 26th February the virus was confirmed in Pakistan and in no time the virus was spread all over the world.
Pakistan government took safety measures instantly to prevent the spread of the disease and imposed all complete lockdown in the whole country. In accordance with this, the educational institutions were closed and the Final exams cancelled with the promotion of the students to the next levels.
I got admission in the university and in the field that I was really passionate of and we were supposed to study online. Later on, I was nominated as the Class Representative of the whole batch. At that time, I was very pleased but I really didn’t know how difficult it could be to be a 24/7 CR of the whole batch. It was a quite challenging task for me but I think I tried my best but all of this, directly affected my grades in a very bad manner. However, I still remained motivated and intend to perform better in future. Afterwards, I was quarantined for being suspected of Covid – 19 and performed my all jobs. Actually, I was a bit confident that I would be Ok. Afterall how hard could it possibly be? But the novelty of being at home wore off and I started to struggle. I suffered from regular pandemic attacks, frozen on the floor in my room, and was unable to move and speak. It was as if I was stuck in my home as well as in my own mind. Initially I really didn’t know how to cope with it. And I was out of this disease by the Grace of Allah Almighty.
However, I feel so much better after sometime I understand that how difficult this must be, but its of huge importance to consider that none of us is alone. No matter how scared or alone you feel. It doesn’t matter how much falls on us, we just need to keep plowing ahead. That’s the only way to keep things clear.

Yours Sincerely,
Anees
