My Pandemic experience

Post by Tayyab Shakeel »

Dear All,
When this virus was reported in China I studied in college at Grade XII. Most of my friends told me about this virus that this virus was deadly and dangerous. They further discussed in class with teachers and asked question to them that; What is Corona Virus and how we recognize the person that is infecting with Corona?
My teacher Qazi Aqeel Ahmed told the whole class that “Corona virus is a kind of virus that cause an infection in your nose and upper throat”. He also told the symptoms of Covid-19. He said that main symptoms of this virus include fever, body aches, trouble breathing etc.
At that time I think this virus was in China and not enter in Pakistan. I cannot take serious this thing. After few months I think two months when the first case of Covid-19 was reported from Karachi on February 26,2020. This virus spread into various regions of nationwide and had currently become epidemic. The World Health Organization had warned Pakistan that the country could encounter great challenge against the outbreak of corona virus in coming days.
When I saw this news from the newspaper at that time I got afraid and started to follow the SOPs that are given and defined by the Government of Pakistan. I also gave advised to my friends and family members to followed the SOPs by strictly. On 13 March, Friday, Government of Pakistan closed the educational institute for 15 days. After one week Government of Pakistan imposed smart lockdown in the country. The reason behind the lockdown was that Covid-19 positive cases spread intensely in the country. Within 45 days on 10 April 2020, the Pakistan tally had reached 4601 confirmed cases of covid-19 and 66 had died.
In this time Covid-19 first wave was at its peak. This lockdown cause problem for peoples of Pakistan. Labour tribe was badly effected at that time. They were not permission to do work. Markets were also closed and this can direct effect Pakistan economy. Everyone were advised to isolate themselves at home. They were not allowed to go outside without any task. This lockdown not only affected the economy but all the educational institute which created a huge gap in student learning. Physical education was transferred to online education. The challenges regarding online classes were being faced by teacher as well as students. In online session there was no inter active learning session between teachers and students.
According to my point of view I was the student in this period of time. I can face all the problems that I can mentioned above. According to my personal experience I am unable to study online because sometime I faced internet connection error. I am not able to understand the concepts that were given by teacher in online session. Although teachers were providing all necessary resources to students but still we had been going through difficulties in grasping the concept and communicating with teacher.
Now a day, things are getting back to normal condition because Covid-19 vaccine is made. This vaccine produce important role in recovery of infected people. The outbreak of Covid-19 is control but its not mean that virus is over. We have hope and pray to Allah to settle down the things once again to normal condition.
Sincerely,

Tayyab Shakeel
